Our workshops and series classes provide participants with the opportunity to deepen their practice, explore new topics and styles of movement, and learn from expert teachers while cultivating community and having fun!

Yamuna Body Rolling® with Melora Gregory, Certified YBR® Instructor

Tuesday, October 4th: Leg and Hip Muscles Lengthened
Props needed:
Silver and gold (pearl as substitute) YBR® balls
Release tight hamstrings, quadriceps, adductors, iliotibial band and buttock muscles to create length and free the pull on the lower back, pelvis and knees.  Help relieve sciatic pain caused by tight piriformis. Free the muscles to function properly and release their pull on the pelvis, knees and lower back.

Tuesday, October 18th: Neck and Shoulder Freedom
Props needed: Gold (sub silver) and pearl (sub black) YBR® balls

Lift the sternum, widen the collarbones, free neck stiffness and release tightness in the pectorals and shoulders. Lengthen your spine and feel more mobile and spacious in the upper body. Good for rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, scoliosis, and neck issues.

Tuesday, November 1st: Back Care
Props needed: Gold (sub silver) and a black or indigo YBR® ball

Create spinal length to release back tension, including deep psoas work. Traction the spine while developing core strength. Work into the quadratus lumborum. Good for compressed disks, psoas and iliacus imbalances, sacroiliac joint issues, and stimulates digestion. Feel spacious, taller and stronger after elongating the torso.

Tuesday, Nov 15th: Massage the Organs
Props needed:
Black YBR® balls
Bring circulation to your major organs. Great for digestive issues, stimulate movement and release adhesions around the lungs, hearth, liver, and all the abdominal and pelvic organs.

Tuesday, Dec 6th: Deep Hip Release
Props needed:
Black YBR® balls
Release tightness from the deep lateral rotators including the piriformis, tone the buttocks, work out tight hamstrings, hip flexors, adductors and iliotibial bands, freeing the leg attachments to the pelvis. Bring circulation to entire ball socket joint. Great for arthritis, low back, hip and knee issues.

Tuesday, Dec 20th: Pelvic Floor Work
Props needed: Gold, silver or pearl, and a soft black YBR® ball

Direct bone stimulation improves the skeletal health of the pelvis. Work on the several muscles that support your pelvic floor to help realign your pelvis and ignite your pelvic floor muscles as they are the foundation of your entire torso.

Yoga for Your Grieving Heart with Susannah Sanfilippo, RYT-200

6-Week Yoga and Bereavement Series offered at Bridge Studio‘s Water Studio at Art of Awareness, held on Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm.

Grieving the death of a loved one can be a confusing, overwhelming and lonely process. Grief surfaces in our emotional hearts, and in our physical bodies. This 6-week yoga and bereavement support group is for anyone suffering the emotionally and physically exhausting effects of grief. It is recommended that your loss has occurred at least six months prior to your participation in class.

November 8-December 13, 2022 Tuesdays, 6-8pm

$160 for the closed 6-class series

Class description:
Each 75 minute class will pertain to 1 of the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating. Each session will include 15 minutes of check-in/grounding, 30 minutes each of instruction & hands on activities, and 30 minutes of attuned yoga practice designed to facilitate self-discovery.

Intuitive Eating Meets Yoga with Janet Stead, MS, RDN, LD, RYT-200
This is an in-person, 10-week series offered at Bridge Studio’s Water Studio at Art of Awareness. Drop-ins are also welcome.

Intuitive Eating Meets Yoga is a 10-part series* created and guided by Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Yoga teacher Janet Steady, MS, RDN, LD, 200YT. Intuitive Eating, created by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, is a self-care eating framework which integrates instinct, emotion, and rational thought. The self care eating construct is based on: 1) unconditional permission to eat when hungry and what food is desired, 2) eating for physical rather than emotional reasons, and 3) reliance on internal hunger and satiety cues to determine when and how much to eat.
*Drop-ins are welcome!

Fridays, October 14th-January 6th (with 2-3 breaks for Holidays), 4-5:15pm

Trauma Informed Teacher Training with Mindy Miller Muse E-RYT500, C-IAYT, LCSW
This is a one day intensive
offered at Bridge Studio’s Water Studio at Art of Awareness.

This one day intensive with Mindy Miller Muse E-RYT500, C-IAYT, LCSW will explore using a trauma informed approach to leading yoga and other body centered mindfulness practices. This full day training will focus on being trauma informed in Yoga and body centered practices and also on adapting yoga and other body based practices for trauma survivors. This will include an overview of the theories that inform trauma sensitivity and how trauma impacts the nervous system. Topics will include trauma informed language and the intentional inclusion of choice in our teaching. This training day will begin with a trauma-informed Yoga practice led by Mindy (no physical assists) and a portion of the day will include practice teaching.

Sunday, October 30th, 8am-5pm (with one hour for lunch on your own)

YA Continuing education credits:
8 Contact hours and 1.5 non contact hours
Eligibility:
This 1 day intensive is open to Yoga teachers and other body-centered service professionals including Qigong/Tai chi, mental health practitioners, bodywork professionals including reiki practitioners and massage therapists. This is a continuing education workshop , not a certification program. 
Logistics and safety:
This is an in-person intensive in Water Studio. Please be sure to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start time to maximize class time and minimize disruption. Masks are optional (welcome but not required). Some windows will be open for increased airflow.  Participants need to bring their own yoga mats and are encouraged to bring their own props. Studio props may be used, however they are not sanitized between classes.
