The clinical staff of Art of Awareness is comprised of seasoned psychotherapists who continue to enhance their craft through peer supervision and continuing education opportunities. We are committed to providing effective treatment that meets the current standards of the field.

Ida O'Donnell, LCSW: Program Director
Ida received her Master’s Degree in Social work from the University of New England. Her therapeutic style is relationship based. Ida has worked as a psychotherapist, consultant and workshop presenter since 1992. Throughout this time, Ida has gained experience by working in mental health agencies, private practice, hospital, and partial hospitalization settings. She a certified EMDR therapist and is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Solutions Focused Therapy.

Leslie Connolly, LCSW
Leslie received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College. She practices from a mindfulness-based perspective. Leslie has worked in the mental health field with individuals and groups since 1992. She is a certified EMDR therapist and has training in Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy and Psychodrama.

Mindy Miller-Muse, LCSW
Mindy received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of New England. She is a holistic psychotherapist who incorporates mindfulness based practices into therapy sessions. Mindy's clinical experience includes working with children, adults and families in community based mental health programs and inpatient settings. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and EMDR. Additionally, Mindy is a certified Interdisciplinary Yoga teacher who teaches yoga at Art of Awareness.

Emily Roberson, LCSW
Emily received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She practices from a holistic perspective; her goal is to restore clients’ natural state of balance and well being through awareness of the mind-body connection. Emily’s clinical experience includes working in inpatient, outpatient, residential and community based settings. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts and Play Therapy, EMDR and energy medicine.

Carol Gray-Kennedy, LCPC
Carol received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology in 1996 from Cambridge College in Boston. She has over ten years of clinical experience with children, families, individuals, and couples. Her therapeutic approach blends CBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, and strengths based therapies. Carol is especially interested in and draws upon her training in the biology of trauma and addictive behaviors.

Fleur Hopper, LCSW
Fleur received her master’s degree in social work from Boston College. Her previous clinical work includes both individual and group therapy with children, adolescents and young adults. Fleur practices from a holistic, client-centered approach and is trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and relational-cultural therapy. She is currently receiving specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders through the Eating Disorder Institute at Plymouth State University.

Brandy Hayes, LCPC-C
Brandy received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from University of Southern Maine. Her counseling style integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psycho-dynamic techniques. Brandy’s clinical experiences have informed her interests in behavior, choice, and the role of the brain in reaching a balanced, healthy life.

Eric Heintz, LCPC, LADC
Eric received his Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Southern Maine. Eric’s work is grounded in the principles of mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques. His clinical experience includes working with adolescents, adults, and families in the areas of depression, anxiety, phase-of-life transitions, substance abuse, and trauma recovery.

Cherie Cayer
Cherie Cayer is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). She offers deep tissue, reflexology, and sports massage techniques. She is also a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and has worked as a mental health case manager for over 15 years. In that time, she has had extensive training in areas of traumatic abuse and its consequences on the mind/body and soul. Her goal as a massage therapist is to assist in the restorative, integrative process that brings mindful awareness back to the body in a caring and nurturing way. Her approach is both respectful of boundaries and engaging of a person's individual needs for healing. Each session begins with a conversation and intake that allows for the client to voice any issues, concerns, or problems so that each person has an active role in the healing process. She is available by appointment only for evenings, weekends and some weekdays. Cherie can be contacted at (207) 712-9741.
